Weekend Movie!

Ang Lihim ni Antonio

Antonio is a curious fifteen-year-old boy who is beginning to realize his sexuality, being attracted to men. His straight best friend, Mike, has been supportive of his admission. His first sexual exploration, however, destroyed his friendship with another friend, Nathan.
His father has been working in Dubai for at least 8 years, but refuses to come home, for having a new family there. His father keeps this as a secret to the wife, Tere.
Antonio then meets Uncle Jonbert and becomes his sexual obsession. But Antonio was caught unprepared for things that would be, and in a sudden cascade of events, Tere killed Jobert.

"This movie is very natural, it depicts a phase of a teenage boy who is exploring a limitless gay world. The acting of the cast on this movie is phenomenal! Very natural! "

Ang lalaki sa parola.

A homo-erotic journey in finding one’s true self Mateo (Harry Laurel) has been searching for his father (Richard Quan) who left when he was five.
His search leads him to Lobo, Batangas only to discover that his father is in Dubai. Awaiting his father’s return, Mateo works as the caretaker of Lobo’s lighthouse.
Here, he meets Jerome (Justin de Leon), a gay man from the city.
What ensues soon after the meeting is the beginning of his homoerotic journey, while Suzet (Jennifer Lee), Mateo’s girlfriend struggles for his love and attention. What begins as a search for one’s father evolves into a search for one’s self.
Will Mateo, in the midst of his conservative rural community, cross the thin line between being straight and being gay?
This story is a search for oneself as seen through the lens of rural homosexuality, myths, and fairies (superstitions/belief?); and the lies that people create to escape the bitter realities of life.

"For me this film is quite challenging to watch. Some of the nude scenes do not appear to be necessary. An interesting parrallelism though, added spice to the story. The love story seemed to be yet another true-to-life gay relationship!" --- mikey
